Mozilla start by presenting a new breakthrough technology capable of making their own browser engine, Firefox, which is capable of running its own 3D game content. This new feature was called the Gladius.
Gladius is actually just part of a wider project called the Paladin, which has the purpose of encouraging the 3D games on the web and in the browser. Mozilla says that what they are doing is experimenting is the best way to learn, and that is what Mozilla has decided to do for Gladius.
Paladin team has been working on a game called RescueFox which was originally planned to use an existing 3D engine called CubicVR.js.
But unfortunately it was not enough game, thus making the Mozilla creating their own 3D engine called the Gladius, which was built in CubicVR.
Mozilla has conducted trials on games that are ‘light’ to find out how far this technology would work. Although in the end, have not yielded maximum results.
Although basic, it’s a good start, and one that shows Firefox is very capable of doing 3D technology. With a few more months is not impossible that fixes Firefox browser tool will support 3D.
